Walled, gated, and yours

The garden is enclosed on every side and the gates are electric, which changes how a week with children in it feels: the door can stand open and nobody is counting heads.

The pool sits beyond the lawn behind a hedge, with loungers along one side and the Colline Pisane behind it. The loggia — an iron pergola hung with linen curtains, brick underfoot — is where the long table lives, and where most of the eating gets done between June and September. There is a second table on the lawn under the lemon trees, beside the old stone tower.

The area

The Colline Pisane, the thermal baths at Casciana, Volterra and the coast are all within the hour.

Cevoli is in the Colline Pisane, twenty minutes above the coast road. Pisa airport is forty minutes, Florence an hour and a quarter, the sea at Marina di Cecina about forty-five minutes.

You will want cars. The drive holds several, behind gates.
